Tips on Finding a Competent Hurricane Shutter Installer

Remember, installing shutters is not rocket science. Installation simply requires common sense and the right tools.
  1. Look through your local newspapers in the "Services Available" classified ad section.

  2. Call ads for carpenters, window installers, electricians. Even if they aren't qualified, they likely will know someone who is.

  3. Locate the small neighborhood magazines that all seem to have a services section with a list of contractors for all manner of things. Call any of them that even seem remotely related to storm shutters. Keep in mind that most of us live in areas where few shutter retailers exist. However, there are a lot of very experienced shutter installers that would love to help you.

  4. We also rely on the Yellow pages to find contractors that do home improvement and have, over the years, installed all sorts of shutters. They love their work and would enjoy installing shutters for you.
I would suggest you install them your self and if it gets to be more than you want to do, then hire a laborer and train him or her to complete the project for you.
